Darwin

— 26 nights

Outback Capital of the Northern Territory

The smallest of Australia’s state capitals, Darwin has nevertheless become an attractive and important urban center, being simultaneously one of the country’s most modernized cities and a gateway to both the Top End region and South East Asia.
Explore Darwin's surroundings by going to Adelaide River (Adelaide River War Cemetery, Robin Falls, &more), Batchelor (Batchelor Museum, Nina's Ark Wildlife Sanctuary, &more) and Litchfield National Park (Tolmer Falls, Buley Rockhole, &more). Spend the 14th (Fri) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour. Spend the 5th (Sat) exploring nature at Charles Darwin National Park. The adventure continues: kick back and relax at Mindil Beach, cool off at Darwin Waterfront, see what you can catch with a fishing tour, and see the world from above with a helicopter tour.

To see photos, maps, traveler tips, and other tourist information, refer to the Darwin trip planner.

In May, daily temperatures in Darwin can reach 38°C, while at night they dip to 26°C.
