Capital of the Inca Empire for three centuries, World Heritage-listed Cusco is now a major tourist destination, drawing nearly 2 million annual tourists with its well-preserved colonial architecture and proximity to Machu Picchu.
Step off the beaten path and head to Tambomachay and Horseback Riding Tours. Go for a jaunt from Cusco to Oropesa to see Huasao Bosque de los Ents, del Senor de los Anillos about 58 minutes away. Munich, Germany to Cusco is an approximately 21-hour flight. You can also do a combination of train and flight. You'll gain 6 hours traveling from Munich to Cusco due to the time zone difference. Explore hidden gems such as Off-Road Tours and Balneario La Punta. Go for a jaunt from Lima to Huaral to see Reserva Nacional Lomas de Lachay about 2 hours away. The adventure continues: take an in-depth tour of Museo Larco, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at San Pedro Church (Iglesia de San Pedro), admire the masterpieces at Museo MATE, and steep yourself in history at Huaca Pucllana.
