City of Light

Located at the confluence of the Moselle and the Seille rivers bordering Luxembourg and Germany, Metz has a cultural confluence as well with a merging of its French and German heritage and military traditions.
Get a sense of the local culture at Œuvre de la cathédrale and Quartier Imperial. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Metz: Bliesbruck-Reinheim Parc Archeologique Europeen (in Bliesbruck), Sarreguemines (Le Moulin de la Blies & Musee de la Faience) and Bitche (Garden for Peace, Citadelle de Bitche, &more). And it doesn't end there: examine the collection at Centre Pompidou-Metz, don't miss a visit to Gare de Metz-Ville, admire nature's wide array of creatures at Parc Animalier de Sainte-Croix, and get engrossed in the history at Fort de Queuleu.

For where to stay, photos, other places to visit, and other tourist information, refer to the Metz trip planner.
