Get out of town with these interesting Osaka side-trips: Koya-cho (Koyasan Okunoin, Kongobu-ji Temple, &more) and Nara (Nara Park, Kasuga Grand Shrine, &more). And it doesn't end there: get in on the family fun at Universal Studios Japan, don't miss a visit to Tempozan Ferris Wheel, shop like a local with Shinsaibashi-suji Shopping Street, and see the interesting displays at Osaka Shiritsu Toyo Toji Museum.

Venice, Italy to Osaka is an approximately 18.5-hour flight. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 8 hours traveling from Venice to Osaka. Traveling from Venice in July, expect somewhat warmer with lows of 28°C in Osaka. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 11th (Thu) early enough to drive to Kobe.

Walkable, small, and aesthetically charming, Kobe has served as Japan's first and premier international trading outpost since opening to trade with China in the mid-19th century.
Venture out of the city with trips to Himeji (Himeji Castle, Nishi no Maru Nagatsubone, &more). The adventure continues: deepen your understanding at Disaster Reduction and Human Renovation Institution, examine the collection at Hakutsuru Sake Brewery Museum, get in on the family fun at Rokkosan Field Athletic, and take a stroll through Kobe Harborland.

Drive from Osaka to Kobe in an hour. Alternatively, you can take a train; or take a bus. While traveling from Osaka, expect a bit cooler days and about the same nights in Kobe, ranging from highs of 33°C to lows of 29°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 15th (Mon) to allow enough time to drive to Nachikatsura-cho.
