Oulu

Oulu is a city and municipality of inhabitants in the region of Northern Ostrobothnia, Finland. Get a sense of the local culture at Raahe Museum and Turkansaaren Ulkomuseo. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Nallikari Beach and Kierikki Stone Age Centre. Change things up with a short trip to Marjaniemi Lighthouse in Hailuoto (about 1h 15 min away). There's still lots to do: relax and rejuvenate at some of the best spas, admire the striking features of Oulu Cathedral, see the interesting displays at Pohjois-Pohjanmaan museo, and look for all kinds of wild species at Hupisaaret Park.
