One of the largest resort towns in the Caribbean, Varadero boasts a 20 km (12 mi) long stretch of sand, lined with hotels and all-inclusive resorts.
Your itinerary includes some good beach time at Coral Beach - Playa Coral and Varadero Beach. Step off the beaten path and head to Nature & Wildlife Tours and Varahicacos Ecological Reserve. Venture out of the city with trips to Matanzas (Cuevas de Bellamar, Pharmaceutical Museum, & more). There's still lots to do: tee off at Varadero Golf Club, Head underground at Cueva de Saturno, shop like a local with Taller de Ceramica Artistica, and explore the world behind art at Mi Casa Beatles.

Ljubljana, Slovenia to Varadero is an approximately 17-hour combination of shuttle and flight. You can also fly. The time zone changes from Central European Time to Cuba Standard Time, which is usually a -6 hour difference. Traveling from Ljubljana in December, expect Varadero to be much hotter, temps between 32°C and 20°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 21st (Sat) early enough to go by car to Vinales.

Cuba's capital and major commercial center, Havana manages to be very old and very modern at the same time.
You'll discover tucked-away gems like Nature & Wildlife Tours and Taquechel Pharmacy Museum. Escape the urban bustle at Las Terrazas Complex and Santa Maria del Mar.
