Sitting between the mountains and the sea, Taitung offers pleasing scenery no matter what direction you face.
Taitung is known for nature, parks, and museums. Your plan includes some of its best attractions: step off the mainland to explore Sanxiantai, get outside with Lvdaoshilang, contemplate the waterfront views at Jiaming Lake, and stroll around Taidong Forest Park.

You can drive from Hualien to Taitung in 2.5 hours. Another option is to take a train. Finish your sightseeing early on the 16th (Sat) so you can travel to Liuqiu.

A small trading town in the 17th century, Kaohsiung now stands as a sprawling metropolis, its harbor representing the largest on the island.

On the 29th (Fri), dedicate a day to the elevated beauty of Hehuan Mountain (Hehuanshan).
