Unvanquished City

Called "Oporto" by many, the city of Porto along the Duoro River lent the country and Port wine their names. Portugal's second-largest metropolis dates back to the 4th century, representing both a rich cultural past and industrial present through its architecture and style.
Get in touch with nature at Praia do Carneiro and Douro River. Your cultural itinerary includes sights like Palacio da Bolsa and Rua Santa Catarina. Dedicate the 5th (Thu) to wine at some of the top wineries in the area. There's still lots to do: take in the spiritual surroundings of Porto Cathedral (Se Catedral) and admire the masterpieces at Museu Serralves.

For where to stay, other places to visit, reviews, and tourist information, go to the Porto online trip maker.

City of a Hundred Spires

Prague lures millions of tourists each year with its World Heritage-listed medieval city center--a labyrinth of narrow lanes, bridges, cathedrals, and palaces overlooked by a thousand-year-old castle.
Lesser Town and St. Vitus Cathedral are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Museum-lovers will appreciate Jewish Museum in Prague and Lobkowicz Palace. Next up on the itinerary: step into the grandiose world of Prague Castle, get great views at Prague Astronomical Clock, get to know the resident critters at Prague Zoo, and view the masterpieces at Kunstkomora.
