Do some cultural sightseeing at Abbey of St. Paul Outside the Walls and Arcibasilica di San Giovanni in Laterano. Get some historical perspective at Colle del Gianicolo and Ghetto Ebraico. Step out of Rome with an excursion to Via Francigena della Tuscia in Viterbo--about 1h 20 min away. And it doesn't end there: take in the awesome beauty at Colle Aventino, head off the coast to Isola Tiberina, explore the world behind art at Vatican Museums, and contemplate the long history of Palatine Hill.
