Formerly a sleepy fishing village, the beach resort town of Kuta now represents one of Indonesia's most popular tourist destinations.

Often overlooked as nothing more than a place to catch the ferry to Lombok or a fast boat to Gilis, Padangbai has a laid-back charm of its own.
Kick off your visit on the 16th (Fri): tour the pleasant surroundings at Guungan Hill, explore the activities along Lotus Lagoon, contemplate the long history of Ujung Water Palace, then admire all the interesting features of Taman Tirtagangga, and finally gain insight with a tour of cultural highlights. Nusa Penida

The bounty of pristine white-sand beaches and turquoise lagoons bordered by emerald green hills, unique cliff formations, and colorful reefs is what draws most travelers to Nusa Penida.
Giri Putri Cave and Pura Segara Kidul are good opportunities to explore the local culture. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Kelingking Beach and Angel's Billabong. You can do a combination of car and ferry from Pemuteran to Nusa Penida in 3.5 hours. Another option is to do a combination of taxi, bus, and ferry. In July in Nusa Penida, expect temperatures between 84°F during the day and 76°F at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 23rd (Fri) early enough to ride a ferry to Ubud.
