El Djem is a town in Mahdia Governorate, Tunisia, population 21,576 (2014 census). On the 2nd (Thu), make a trip to Governor's House, take in the spiritual surroundings of Mosque Sidi Sahbi (Mosque of the Barber), then take an in-depth tour of Archaeological Museum of El-Djem, and finally delve into the distant past at Amphitheatre of El Jem. Here are some ideas for day two: steep yourself in history at Bassins Aghlabites, visit Medina of Kairouan, and then make a trip to Bir Barouta.
