One of east Asia's major cultural and financial centers, Seoul boasts five World Heritage Sites and a huge selection of museums, temples, shrines, palaces, parks, gardens, and glass-and-steel skyscrapers.
Get a sense of the local culture at Gyeongbokgung Palace and Seoul Arts Center. Step off the beaten path and head to Myeong-dong Cathedral and Grevin Museum. Explore Seoul's surroundings by going to Praum The Musical Instrument Museum (in Namyangju) and Everland (in Yongin). There's lots more to do: see the interesting displays at Trickeye Museum Seoul, appreciate the history behind Jogyesa Temple, get to know the fascinating history of Cheonggyecheon Stream, and don't miss a visit to Gwanghwamun Gate.

Discover out-of-the-way places like Beomeosa Temple and Seoknamsa Temple. Visit Haedong Yonggung Temple and Birthplace of President Roh Moo-hyun for their historical value. Venture out of the city with trips to Yeongnamlu (in Miryang), Gimhae National Museum (in Gimhae) and Tongdosa Temple (in Yangsan).
