The landscape surrounding Catania, a medieval city on Sicily's eastern coast, is dominated by Mount Etna, the tallest active volcano in Europe.
Visit Villa Romana del Casale and Syracuse Cathedral for their historical value. Do your shopping at Miraglia Biscottificio and Sudestasi Contemporanea. Venture out of the city with trips to Cathedral of St. George (in Modica), Centro Storico (in Noto) and Ortigia (in Syracuse). There's still lots to do: take an in-depth tour of Pinacoteca Zelantea, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Saint Biagio Church - Sant'Agata alla Fornace, get into the urban bustle at Piazza del Duomo di Acireale, and pause for some serene contemplation at Basilica di San Sebastiano.

Explore Valletta's surroundings by going to Scuba & Snorkeling (in St. Paul's Bay) and Mellieha (Mellieha Beach & Ghajn Tuffieha Bay). Fly from Catania to Valletta in 3 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of car and ferry; or do a combination of bus and ferry. In June, plan for daily highs up to 33°C, and evening lows to 22°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 5th (Sun) so you can drive to Victoria.

Victoria, Malta

The city of Victoria on the island of Gozo boasts an outstanding collection of Baroque architecture.
Ggantija Megalithic Temples and St. George's Basilica are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Step out of the city life by going to Scuba & Snorkeling and Dwejra Bay.
