Once the feared base of pirates and heavily fortified against Norman attacks, today's coastal Saint-Malo is one of the top tourist draws.
Get out of town with these interesting Saint-Malo side-trips: Bayeux (Cave a Vin - Le Volet qui penche, Bayeux War Cemetery, &more), Airborne Museum (in Sainte-Mere-Eglise) and Cornille Havard - Fondeur de Cloches (in Villedieu-les-Poeles). The adventure continues: steep yourself in history at Mont Saint-Michel, explore the different monuments and memorials at Cimetières Militaires, don't miss a visit to Les Remparts de Saint-Malo, and take in the history at Omaha Beach.

When traveling from Rennes in June, plan for slightly colder days and about the same nights in Saint-Malo: temperatures range from 22°C by day to 13°C at night.
