Known to most by its German name Auschwitz, the modestly sized city of Oswiecim sits at the foot of the Jura Mountains, just 50 km (30 mi) west of Krakow.
On the 13th (Sat), get engrossed in the history at Panstwowe Muzeum Auschwitz-Birkenau, then get to know the fascinating history of Main Market Square, and then walk around Planty Park.

Although its history goes back a thousand years, Gdansk represents one of Poland's most modern urban centers, its thriving economy boosted by a lively tourism sector.
Step out of Gdansk to go to Malbork and see Muzeum Zamkowe w Malborku, which is approximately 56 minutes away. There's lots more to do: wander the streets of Old Town, examine the collection at Sala BHP, don't miss a visit to Dluga Street (ul. Dluga), and get your game on at Room of Plenty.

You can do a combination of bus and flight from Oswiecim to Gdansk in 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a train. On the 17th (Wed), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can travel back home.
