The time zone difference when traveling from Dublin to Hiroshima is 9 hours. The castle around which the city of Himeji has developed represents one of the best preserved in the country, and has been designated as a national treasure and a World Heritage Site.
Venture out of the city with trips to Mt. Kuma (in Bizen), Awaga Shrine (in Asago) and Okayama Korakuen Garden (in Okayama). There's much more to do: take in the pleasant sights at Himeji Castle, take in nature's colorful creations at Koko-en Garden, don't miss a visit to Tarumino Ozakura, and take in the awesome beauty at Mt. Takamikura.

You can take a train from Hiroshima to Himeji in an hour. Other options are to drive; or do a combination of bus and train. April in Himeji sees daily highs of 20°C and lows of 14°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 17th (Fri) so you can take a train to Kyoto.

Getting from Himeji to Kyoto by train takes about an hour. Other options: drive; or take a bus. In April, daily temperatures in Kyoto can reach 22°C, while at night they dip to 11°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 22nd (Wed) to allow time to take a train to Kanazawa.
