Jáchymov, until 1945 known by its German name of Sankt Joachimsthal or Joachimsthal is a spa town in the Karlovy Vary Region of Bohemia, now part of the Czech Republic. Change things up with these side-trips from Jachymov: Lidice Memorial (in Lidice), Terezin (Památník Terezín - Malá pevnost, Mala Pevnost (Small Fortress), &more) and Karlstejn Castle (in Karlstejn).
