When in Marseille, make a side trip to see Palais des Papes in Avignon, approximately Avignon away. Next up on the itinerary: take in the spiritual surroundings of Basilique Notre-Dame de la Garde, explore the striking landscape of Parc National des Calanques, admire the masterpieces at Museum of European and Mediterranean Civilisations, and take a stroll through The Panier.

Well-known for the beautiful views of its famous Promenade des Anglais waterfront, Nice is an ethnically-diverse coastal port city on the French Riviera and the fifth most populated city in France.
Change things up with a short trip to Musee PEYNET et du Dessin Humoristique in Antibes (about 30 minutes away). There's much more to do: take a stroll through Vieille Ville, take some stellar pictures from Colline du Chateau overlook, have some family-friendly fun at SENSAS Nice, and steep yourself in history at Palais Lascaris.
