The ancient city of Leuven supports an old Catholic university and offers interesting architecture, botanical gardens, and great breweries.
For shopping fun, head to STUK Kunstencentrum or Tartufo. Get some cultural insight at Groot Begijnhof and Bocholter Brouwerijmuseum. Get out of town with these interesting Leuven side-trips: La Grande Abbaye de La Ramee (in Jodoigne), Wild-En Wandel Park (in Helchteren) and La Nostra Vita (in Molenstede).
