The tiny Armenian village of Geghard draws in many visitors who flock to admire the medieval Geghard monastery, a World Heritage Site.
You'll discover tucked-away gems like Kakavaberd Fortress and Kaptavank Monastery. Do some cultural sightseeing at The Monastery of Geghard and Garni Temple. You can drive from Dilijan to Alaverdi in 2 hours. Another option is to do a combination of bus and train. Traveling from Dilijan to Alaverdi, you'll gain 1 hour due to the time zone difference. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 28th (Sun) so you can go by car to Areni.

Areni is a village in the Vayots Dzor Province of Armenia. Kick off your visit on the 29th (Mon): take in the architecture and atmosphere at Tsakhats Kar Monastery, pause for some serene contemplation at Zorats Church, then take in breathtaking views at Noravank Gorge, then take in the architecture and atmosphere at St. Astvatsatsin Church, and finally take in the spiritual surroundings of Noravank Monastery. On the next day, do a tasting at Areni Wine Factory, do a tasting at Hin Areni Winery, then pause for some serene contemplation at Tanahati Monastery, and finally identify plant and animal life at Vardenyats Pass (Selim Pass).

You can drive from Alaverdi to Areni in 4 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. The time zone changes from Eastern European Time to Armenia Time, which is usually a 1 hour difference. Cap off your sightseeing on the 30th (Tue) early enough to go by car to Vagharshapat.
