Located in the heart of the country, Namibia's capital city Windhoek receives a constant influx of tourists, in part because of its international airport.
When in Windhoek, make a side trip to see Gross Barmen Hot Springs in Gross Barmen, approximately Gross Barmen away. Spend the 6th (Thu) spotting exotic species with a safari tour. There's lots more to do: tour the pleasant surroundings at NamibRand Nature Reserve, play a few rounds at Omeya Golf and Residential Oasis, get a taste of life in the country at Okapuka Ranch, and see the interesting displays at Trans-Namib Railroad Museum.

Port-au-Prince, the capital of Haiti, gives most visitors their first taste of the country, along with all of its rugged and lively charm.
Get out of town with these interesting Port-au-Prince side-trips: Village Artistique de Noailles (in Croix-des-Bouquets), Rosie's Boutique (in Cabaret) and Fort Jacques (in Kenscoff). And it doesn't end there: examine the collection at Musee du Pantheon National Haitien, sample the tasty concoctions at Barbancourt Rum Distillery, don't miss a visit to Place Saint-Pierre, and take an in-depth tour of The Bureau of Ethnology.

Traveling by car from Port-au-Prince to Milot takes 4 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of bus and taxi. When traveling from Port-au-Prince in May, plan for a bit cooler days in Milot, with highs around 33°C, while nights are about the same with lows around 30°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 20th (Thu) so you can go by car to Jacmel.

Sitting sheltered from the elements in a wide bay, Jacmel has gained a reputation as a welcoming and peaceful coastal town.
On the 21st (Fri), enjoy the sand and surf at Jacmel Beach. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 22nd (Sat): explore the world behind art at Jacmel Arts Center, then take in the dramatic scenery at Bassin Bleu, and then hunt for treasures at Marche de Fer.
