Aviemore is a town and tourist resort, situated within the Cairngorms National Park in the Highlands of Scotland. Fort George and Beauly Priory will appeal to history buffs. Take a break from the city and head to River Rafting & Tubing and Working Sheepdogs. Get out of town with these interesting Aviemore side-trips: Culloden Battlefield (in Culloden Moor) and Aigas Field Centre (in Beauly). There's lots more to do: enjoy the sand and surf at Loch Morlich, identify plant and animal life at Loch Garten Nature Reserve, and take a peaceful walk through Rothiemurchus.
