Kaohsiung

Harbor City

A small trading town in the 17th century, Kaohsiung now stands as a sprawling metropolis, its harbor representing the largest on the island.
Your day by day itinerary now includes Xiao Liu Qiu as well as The Pier-2 Art Centre. The adventure continues: make a trip to Dragon Tiger Tower, head outdoors with Ai He (Love River), and step off the mainland to explore Cijin Island.

Hengchun

Located on the southern tip of the eponymous peninsula, Hengchun serves as the entry point to Kenting National Park, often attracting more travelers than locals with its tropical beach resorts and bustling night markets.
Your day by day itinerary now includes National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium as well as Longpan Park. Spend the 13th (Mon) exploring nature at Kenting National Park. It doesn't end there: don't miss a visit to Feng Chui Sha.

Traveling by car from Kaohsiung to Hengchun takes 2 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or do a combination of train and bus. Expect a daytime high around 37°C in September, and nighttime lows around 30°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 14th (Tue) so you can drive to Hualien.

Nestled between the sea and the mountains, Hualien boasts a number of attractions, both natural and manmade.
You've now added Eternal Spring Shrine to your itinerary. There's much more to do: head outdoors with Taroko Gorge, pause for some serene contemplation at Xiangde Temple, witness a stunning natural landmark at Wenshan Hot Spring, and enjoy the sand and surf at Chishingtan Scenic Area.

You can drive from Hengchun to Hualien in 4.5 hours. Another option is to do a combination of bus and train. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 17th (Fri) early enough to take a train to Taipei.

Situated in a basin between two mountain ranges, Taipei appeals to tourists with its blend of Asian cultures, living side by side amidst Japanese-era mansions and Taoist temples.
