One of east Asia's major cultural and financial centers, Seoul boasts five World Heritage Sites and a huge selection of museums, temples, shrines, palaces, parks, gardens, and glass-and-steel skyscrapers.
Do some cultural sightseeing at Gyeongbokgung Palace and DMZ Haemaru Village. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Hwaseong Fortress and Jongmyo Shrine. Getting from Sokcho to Gyeongju by car takes about 4 hours. Other options: do a combination of bus and train; or take a bus. In October, daily temperatures in Gyeongju can reach 23°C, while at night they dip to 18°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 11th (Sun) to allow enough time to drive to Busan.

Plan for a bit warmer nights when traveling from Busan in October since evenings lows in Jeju dip to 23°C. On the 22nd (Thu), you'll have the morning to explore before heading back home.
