One of east Asia's major cultural and financial centers, Seoul boasts five World Heritage Sites and a huge selection of museums, temples, shrines, palaces, parks, gardens, and glass-and-steel skyscrapers.
Step out of Seoul with an excursion to DMZ Haemaru Village in Paju--about 1h 25 min away. In June, Seoul is a bit warmer than Edmonton - with highs of 32°C and lows of 22°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 21st (Mon) so you can drive to Chuncheon.

The capital of the country's northernmost province, the city of Chuncheon acts a gateway to the wilder sights of the rural region.
On the 22nd (Tue), stroll around Jade Garden Natural Arboretum, head off the coast to Nami Island, and then find something for the whole family at Gangchon Rail Park.

You can drive from Seoul to Chuncheon in 1.5 hours. Other options are to take a train; or take a subway. In June, daily temperatures in Chuncheon can reach 32°C, while at night they dip to 22°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 22nd (Tue) early enough to drive to Sokcho.

One of the most popular tourist destinations in the Republic of Korea, Gyeongju combines a rich cultural heritage with mountain and coastal scenery.
Kick off your visit on the 25th (Fri): take in the spiritual surroundings of Seokguram, steep yourself in history at Bulguksa Temple, and then engage your brain at Silla Arts And Science Museum. On the next day, look for all kinds of wild species at Gyeongju Bird Park, then examine the collection at Gyeongju National Museum, and then contemplate the waterfront views at Anapji Pond.

Getting from Sokcho to Gyeongju by car takes about 4 hours. Other options: do a combination of bus and train; or take a bus. In June, plan for daily highs up to 23°C, and evening lows to 20°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 26th (Sat) to allow time to travel to Jeju.

The main town on the largest of Korea's islands, Jeju has a volcanic landscape protected by UNESCO.
Venture out of the city with trips to Seogwipo (Seongsan Ilchulbong, Gwangchigi Beach, &more). There's still lots to do: Head underground at Manjanggul Cave, kick back and relax at Gimnyeong Seonsegi Beach, get outside with Gwakji Gwamul Beach, and kick your exploration up a notch at Zipline Jeju.
