The small town of Oda, situated in central Shimane, lies nestled in the foothills of the prefecture's tallest mountain, overlooking the scenic coastline of the Sea of Japan.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Oda: Unnan (Kakeya Sakagura Museum, Unnan City Nagai Takashi Memorial, &more), Yasugi (Kano Museum of Art, Yasugi City & Adachi Museum of Art) and Izumo (Former Taisha Station, Shimane Museum of Ancient Izumo, &more). The adventure continues: appreciate the extensive heritage of Iwami Ginzan Silver Mine, steep yourself in history at Riyokan Arata, admire the sheer force of Shimai Falls, and take in nature's colorful creations at Tottori Hanakairo-Flower Park.

To find where to stay and more tourist information, go to the Oda trip itinerary planner.

If you are flying in from Brazil, the closest major aiports are Hiroshima Airport, Okayama Airport and Takamatsu Airport. Expect a daytime high around °C in October, and nighttime lows around °C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 21st (Wed) early enough to travel back home.
