Cultural Heart of Northern France

On the Deûle River near the Belgium border, Lille has a very active cultural life as France's fifth-largest metropolitan area and the fourth-largest urban area with a large college student population.
Do some cultural sightseeing at Le Palais Des Beaux Arts de Lille and Centre Historique Mnier. You'll explore and learn at LaM, Lille Métropole Musée d'art moderne d'art contemporain et d'art brut and Musee des Anciens Combattants d'Armentieres. Get out of town with these interesting Lille side-trips: Abbaye de Vaucelles (in Les Rues-des-Vignes), Dunkirk (Musee Portuaire & Plage de Malo-les-Bains) and Maison de la Bataille de la Peene (in Noordpeene). There's still lots to do: test your problem-solving skills at popular escape rooms, take a stroll through Vieux-Lille, examine the collection at La Ferme des Orgues, and take in the architecture and atmosphere at Cathedrale de la Treille.
