Often described as the city of laptops and lederhosen, Munich is an international center of business, engineering, research, and medicine that still maintains a rich cultural heritage and age-old traditions.
Start off your visit on the 26th (Thu): contemplate the long history of Nymphenburg Palace and then contemplate the waterfront views at English Garden. On the 27th (Fri), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: kick back and relax at Roberto Beach and then get outside with Strandbad St. Alban.

Berchtesgaden to Munich is an approximately 2-hour car ride. You can also take a bus; or take a train. In July, daily temperatures in Munich can reach 29°C, while at night they dip to 15°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 28th (Sat) so you can go by car to Berchtesgaden.

Bordered on three sides by Austria, Berchtesgaden is encircled by snow-capped mountain peaks that offer sweeping views of the entire region.
The Eagle's Nest and Sankt Phillipp und Jakob (Stiftspfarrkirche) will appeal to history buffs. Visiting Konigssee and Lake Chiemsee will get you outdoors.
