A city jurisdiction formed after the merger of several towns in 2005, Miyakojima spans six linked-up islands.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Yonaha Maehama Beach and Sunayama Beach. There's still lots to do: snap pictures at Irabu Bridge, make a trip to East Henna Cape, step off the mainland to explore Kouri Island, and visit a coastal fixture at Higashi Hennazaki Lighthouse.

Amsterdam, The Netherlands to Miyakojima is an approximately 18.5-hour combination of flight and taxi. You can also do a combination of train, flight, and taxi. The time zone difference moving from Central European Time to Japan Standard Time is 8 hours. Plan for warmer temperatures traveling from Amsterdam in April, with highs in Miyakojima at 29°C and lows at 23°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 30th (Tue) to allow enough time to ride a ferry to Iriomote-jima.

Taketomicho Iriomote-Jima stands as the second largest island in Okinawa.
Step off the beaten path and head to Canyoning & Rappelling Tours and Nakano Beach. There's much more to do: head off the coast to Iriomote Island, take in the dramatic scenery at Nara no Taki Falls, don't miss a visit to Heritiera Littoralis Tree of Nakama River, and stroll through Ida no Hama Beach.

Getting from Miyakojima to Iriomote-jima by ferry takes about 4 hours. Expect a daytime high around 30°C in April, and nighttime lows around 24°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 3rd (Fri) to allow time to ride a ferry to Ishigaki.

Ishigaki, the most populous island in the chain, features the country's southernmost city and acts as a transport hub for exploring the landmasses that surround.
Step off the beaten path and head to Cape Hirakubozaki and Tamatorizaki Observatory. There's lots more to do: kick back and relax at Kondoi Beach, tour the pleasant surroundings at Kabira Park, paddle through the water with a kayaking and canoeing tour, and glide peacefully along the water with some of the best stand-up paddleboarding in the area.

You can ride a ferry from Iriomote-jima to Ishigaki in an hour. May in Ishigaki sees daily highs of 34°C and lows of 28°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 7th (Tue) so you can travel to Hiroshima.
