Zagreb boasts a combination of Austro-Hungarian and Socialist architecture, but it is beloved for its outdoor cafe culture.
Visit Trakoscan Castle (Dvor Trakoscan) and Porta di Pietra (Kamenita Vrata) for their historical value. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Rastoke and Zagreb 80's Museum. Step out of Zagreb with an excursion to Old Castle (Stari Grad) in Varazdin--about 1h 15 min away. And it doesn't end there: push the limits with an extreme tour, don't miss a visit to King Tomislav Square, and contemplate the waterfront views at Jarun Lake.
