Located right in the center of Australia, the national park boasts perhaps the country's most iconic natural symbol and a sacred place for the region's indigenous people--as well as Kata Tjuta, a collection of 36 red rocks forming an equally distinctive sight.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Walpa Gorge and Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre. Do some cultural sightseeing at Uluru and Kuniya Walk. There's still lots to do: contemplate the waterfront views at Mutitjulu Waterhole, appreciate the views at Valley of the Winds, take in the exciting artwork at Walkatjara Art, and hike along Uluru Hiking Path.

Snaking up the side of a rounded, tree-dotted hill, Hobart sits between Tasmania’s sprawling mountains and the vast estuary of the River Derwent.
Museum-lovers will get to explore Mawson's Hut Replica Museum and Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery. Get some historical perspective at Hobart Convict Penitentiary and Battery Point Sculpture Trail. Venture out of the city with trips to Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary (in Brighton) and The Neck (in Bruny Island). There's still lots to do: see majestic marine mammals with a dolphin and whale watching tour, look for gifts at The Wicked Cheese Co., and take a leisurely stroll along Constitution Dock.

Founded as a military outpost in 1826, Albany is the oldest town in Western Australia, just barely gaining this title by being settled two years earlier than Fremantle and Perth.
Albany's Historic Whaling Station and National Anzac Centre will appeal to museum buffs. We've included these beaches for you: Greens Pool and Middleton Beach. Step out of Albany with an excursion to Elephant Rocks in Denmark--about 50 minutes away. There's much more to do: enjoy the sand and surf at Little Beach, tour the pleasant surroundings at Emu Point, and explore the striking landscape at The Gap and Natural Bridge.
