Fort William is the second largest settlement in the Highlands of Scotland with around 10,000 inhabitants – and the largest town: only the city of Inverness is larger.Fort William is a major tourist centre, with Glen Coe just to the south, Aonach Mòr to the east and Glenfinnan to the west, on the Road to the Isles. Get outdoors at Highland Titles Nature Reserve and Morar Beach. Satisfy your inner culture vulture at West Highland Museum and The Commando Museum. Get out of town with these interesting Fort William side-trips: Glenfinnan Viaduct (in Glenfinnan), Glen Etive (in Glencoe Village) and Camas an Lighe (Singing Sands) (in Gorteneorn). There's more to do: enjoy the sand and surf at Camusdarach Beach and trek along Glencoe Lochan.

Durness is a village and civil parish in the north-west Highlands of Scotland. Balnakeil Craft Village and Mudness Ceramics are good opportunities to explore the local culture.
