Recife, Brazil to Amsterdam is an approximately 15-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train. The time zone changes from Brasilia Time to Central European Time, which is usually a 4 hour difference. While traveling from Recife, expect a bit cooler days and much colder nights in Amsterdam, ranging from highs of 23°C to lows of 13°C. Called "Oporto" by many, the city of Porto along the Duoro River lent the country and Port wine their names. Portugal's second-largest metropolis dates back to the 4th century, representing both a rich cultural past and industrial present through its architecture and style.
Go for a jaunt from Porto to Braga to see Bom Jesus do Monte about 52 minutes away. Dedicate the 15th (Sat) to wine at some of the top wineries in the area.
