Best known as home the Matterhorn mountain, Zermatt serves as a chic ski resort town of the Swiss Alps.
Take a break from the city and head to The Matterhorn and Golf Club Matterhorn. You'll discover tucked-away gems like Lenkerseeli/Spielplatz and Matterhorn Museum - Zermatlantis. Get out of town with these interesting Zermatt side-trips: Sion (Church-Fortress of Valere & Chateau de Tourbillon) and Spas & Wellness (in Leukerbad). Nestled between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz in the heart of the Jungfrau region, Interlaken became popular for its proximity to the mountains and lakes of the Bernese Oberland region.
Ballenberg, Swiss Open-Air Museum and Aare Gorge are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Museum-lovers will get to explore Zentrum Paul Klee (Paul Klee Center) and Einstein House (Einsteinhaus). Get out of town with these interesting Interlaken side-trips: UNESCO-Altstadt von Bern (in Bern) and Castle of Gruyeres (in Gruyeres). There's lots more to do: hit the slopes at Maennlichen, fly like a bird with a parasailing or paragliding tour, take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Harderkulm, and explore the striking landscape at Aletsch Glacier.
