One of east Asia's major cultural and financial centers, Seoul boasts five World Heritage Sites and a huge selection of museums, temples, shrines, palaces, parks, gardens, and glass-and-steel skyscrapers.
Let the collections at Gyeongbokgung Palace and National Museum of Korea capture your imagination. Get outdoors at Cheonggyecheon Stream and Bukhansan National Park. Start off your visit on the 15th (Fri): head outdoors with Osaek Jujeongol Valley, explore the striking landscape of Seoraksan National Park, and then trek along Biryong Falls. On your second day here, enjoy the sand and surf at Cheonjin Beach, head outdoors with Songjiho Beach, enjoy the sand and surf at Bongpo Beach, then take in the natural beauty of Cheoksan Foot Spa Park, and finally contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Naksansa Temple.

On the 17th (Sun), look for all kinds of wild species at Gyeongju Bird Park, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Bulguksa Temple, then appreciate the history behind Seokguram, and finally steep yourself in history at Cheonmachong Tomb. Traveling by car from Sokcho to Gyeongju takes 4 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of bus and train; or take a bus. July in Gyeongju sees daily highs of 36°C and lows of 26°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 18th (Mon) early enough to drive to Busan.
