Inverness, often described as the Gateway to the Highlands, is a thriving commercial and industrial center.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Inverness: Drumnadrochit (Corrimony Chambered Cairn & St Ninians Church), River Foyers (in Foyers) and Aigas Field Centre (in Beauly). There's lots more to do: savor the flavors at Food & Drink, explore the wealth of natural beauty at Cairngorms National Park, have some family-friendly fun at Wildwoodz, and don't miss a visit to Wardlaw Mausoleum.

Durness is a village and civil parish in the north-west Highlands of Scotland. Start off your visit on the 10th (Mon): stroll through Balnakeil Beach, view the masterpieces at Wee Gallery, and then kick back and relax at Sandwood Bay Beach. On the next day, don't miss a visit to Cairn House Gallery, then kick back and relax at Durness Beach, then enjoy the sand and surf at Sango Bay, and finally view the masterpieces at Lotte Glob.

Kick off your visit on the 14th (Fri): see the sights as you ascend with a climbing tour, pause for some photo ops at Commando Monument, and then take in the dramatic scenery at Steall Waterfall.
