Šiauliai is the fourth largest city in Lithuania, with a population of 133,900. Visit Hill of Crosses - Kryziu Kalnas and Telsiai Cathedral for their historical value. Museum-lovers will appreciate Joniskis Basketball Museum and The Angel Museum. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Siauliai: Church of Our Lady of the Angels (in Tytuvenai), Holy Assumption of the Virgin Mary Church (in Telsiai) and Shrine of Our Lady of Siluva (in Siluva). Situated between the Neris and Nemunas rivers, Kaunas is known for its old town, which, though smaller than the capital's, is in much better condition.
Your inner history buff will appreciate Ninth Fort and Panemunes Castle. Appreciate the collections at Raudondvaris Dvaras and Old car museum. Step out of Kaunas to go to Raudone and see Raudone Castle, which is approximately 1 hour away.
