Tokyo holds the status of most populous metropolitan area in the world--a fact you'll find tangible as you walk the bustling streets and explore its diverse neighborhoods and cultures.
Start off your visit on the 27th (Sat): take a stroll through Yanaka, take in the spiritual surroundings of Asakusa Shrine, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Sensō-ji, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Shibamata Taishakuten (Taishakuten Daikyoji Temple), and finally contemplate the long history of Nezu Shrine. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 28th (Sun): take a stroll through Odaiba and then take a stroll through Ueno.

Brussels, Belgium to Tokyo is an approximately 16-hour flight. You can also do a combination of train and flight. The time zone changes from Central European Time (CET) to Japan Standard Time (JST), which is usually an 8 hour difference. Traveling from Brussels in July, expect Tokyo to be somewhat warmer, temps between 36°C and 27°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 28th (Sun) to allow time to travel to Kyoto.

The national capital for over a thousand years, Kyoto retains much of the charm of old Japan, boasting numerous temples and shrines that seem completely untouched by the modern world.
Popular historic sites such as Nijo Castle and Toji are in your itinerary. Your cultural itinerary includes sights like Kiyomizu-dera Temple and Kinkaku-ji. Go for a jaunt from Kyoto to Osaka to see Dotonbori about 1h 10 min away. The adventure continues: steep yourself in history at Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine, wander the streets of Gion, and contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Sanjusangendo Temple.

You can take a train from Tokyo to Kyoto in 3 hours. Other options are to fly; or drive. In July, daily temperatures in Kyoto can reach 37°C, while at night they dip to 28°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 31st (Wed) early enough to travel to Onna-son.

Onna-son

Located on the coast in the middle of the island, Onna-son has become known for its beaches and seaside economy.
Take a break from the city and head to Stand-Up Paddleboarding and Scuba & Snorkeling. Get some historical perspective at Sefa-Utaki and Okinawa Peace Memorial Park. Explore Onna-son's surroundings by going to Nakijin-son (Nakijin Castle Ruins & Kouri-jima Island) and Okichan Theater (in Motobu-cho). It doesn't end there: don't miss a visit to Onna Station Nakayukui Market.

Traveling by flight from Kyoto to Onna-son takes 5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of train and flight; or do a combination of train and ferry. July in Onna-son sees daily highs of 37°C and lows of 30°C at night. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 3rd (Sat) so you can travel to Ishigaki.

You can do a combination of bus and flight from Onna-son to Ishigaki in 5 hours. Expect a daytime high around 38°C in August, and nighttime lows around 32°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 6th (Tue) early enough to catch the ferry to Iriomote-jima.

Traveling by ferry from Ishigaki to Iriomote-jima takes an hour. In August, plan for daily highs up to 38°C, and evening lows to 32°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 9th (Fri) so you can ride a ferry to Miyakojima.
