The castle around which the city of Himeji has developed represents one of the best preserved in the country, and has been designated as a national treasure and a World Heritage Site.
Step off the beaten path and head to Katashibo Bamboo Forest and Koko-en. Get a sense of the local culture at Himeji Castle and Hiromine Shrine. Venture out of the city with trips to Okayama (Sun Station Terrace Okayama, Asahikawa no Hotori, &more).
