Fly from Hong Kong to Shanghai in 5.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or drive. Traveling from Hong Kong in October, expect Shanghai to be a bit cooler, temps between 28°C and 19°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 18th (Sun) to allow time to travel to Beijing.

Beijing

As the political and cultural capital of China, Beijing stands at the heart of Chinese history, buzzing with the energy of its high population density and centuries of importance.
Beijing is known for historic sites, museums, and shopping. You can do a combination of bus and flight from Luanping County to Xi'an in 8.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of taxi, bus, and train; or drive. Expect a daytime high around 22°C in October, and nighttime lows around 10°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 26th (Mon) so you can travel to Chengdu.

Fly from Xi'an to Chengdu in 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or drive. Traveling from Xi'an in October, Chengdu is somewhat warmer at night with lows of 19°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 27th (Tue) to allow time to travel to Lijiang.
