Ecological Capital of Brazil

The word "Brazil" isn't often mentioned in the same breath as "excellent urban planning"--except in Curitiba.
Bring the kids along to Jardim Botanico de Curitiba and Tangua Park. Step out of Curitiba to go to Antonina and see Bala de Banana Bananina - Loja da Fabrica, which is approximately 1h 25 min away. There's lots more to do: explore the world behind art at Museu Oscar Niemeyer, stroll around Parque Barigui, shop like a local with Feira do Largo da Ordem, and take in the spiritual surroundings of Santuario Tabor Magnificat.

If you are flying in from Qatar, the closest major aiport is Afonso Pena Airport. In July in Curitiba, expect temperatures between 22°C during the day and 11°C at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 6th (Fri) early enough to go by car to Florianopolis.
