A city of rich Moorish heritage, Seville is the cultural and financial center of southern Spain, and the site of numerous festivals throughout the year.
Royal Alcázar of Seville and Las Duenas will appeal to museum buffs. Plaza de España and Barrio Santa Cruz are good opportunities to explore the local culture. And it doesn't end there: get great views at Catedral de Sevilla, admire the landmark architecture of Museum of Fine Arts, Sevilla, examine the collection at Torre del Oro, and glide peacefully along the water with some of the best stand-up paddleboarding in the area.

You can take a train from Madrid to Seville in 3 hours. Alternatively, you can fly; or drive. Expect a daytime high around 91°F in August, and nighttime lows around 68°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 11th (Sun) to allow time to drive to Nerja.

Nerja is a municipality on the Costa del Sol in the province of Málaga in the autonomous community of Andalusia in southern Spain. Get a sense of the local culture at Church of El Salvador and Punta Lara. Get outdoors at Playa El Salon and Playa del Molino de Papel. There's still lots to do: enjoy the sand and surf at Playa de la Cala el Canuelo and stroll through Playa de la Alberquilla.

Drive from Seville to Nerja in 3 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or do a combination of train and bus. In August, daily temperatures in Nerja can reach 92°F, while at night they dip to 67°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 14th (Wed) to allow time to travel to Ibiza Town.

You can do a combination of bus and flight from Nerja to Ibiza Town in 5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of car and ferry; or do a combination of bus, flight, and ferry. Traveling from Nerja in August, expect nights in Ibiza Town to be somewhat warmer, around 73°F, while days are a bit cooler, around 86°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 17th (Sat) so you can travel to Barcelona.

Visit Aigua Xelida and Platja Fonda for some beach relaxation. Take a break from the city and head to La playa de Tamariu and Plage de Sa Tuna.
