On the 12th (Mon), kick back and relax at Praia da Adraga, kick back and relax at Praia da ursa, and then steep yourself in history at Convent of the Capuchos. Called "Oporto" by many, the city of Porto along the Duoro River lent the country and Port wine their names. Portugal's second-largest metropolis dates back to the 4th century, representing both a rich cultural past and industrial present through its architecture and style.
Casa Ramos Pinto and Churchill's - Visitors Centre are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Cockburn’s Port Wine Lodge and Igreja dos Carmelitas. Step out of Porto to go to Santa Maria da Feira and see Castelo de Santa Maria da Feira, which is approximately 30 minutes away. There's still lots to do: examine the collection at FC Porto Museum, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Igreja do Carmo, savor the flavors at Ferreira Cellars, and join in the after-dark buzz at Cafe Majestic.

You can drive from Sintra to Porto in 3.5 hours. Other options are to fly; or take a train.
