Kids will appreciate attractions like Willamette Valley and Forest Park. Multnomah Village and Oregon Historical Society are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Change things up with these side-trips from Portland: Salem (Oregon State Capitol, Willamette Heritage Center, &more), Albany (The Historic Carousel and Museum & Monteith District) and Stevenson (Skamania Lodge Zip Line Tour & Columbia Gorge Interpretive Center). There's lots more to do: let your taste buds guide you at a local gastronomic tour, take in nature's colorful creations at Hoyt Arboretum, relax and rejuvenate at some of the best spas, and snap pictures at St. Johns Bridge.
