Edmonton, Canada to Tokyo is an approximately 16-hour flight. You can also do a combination of bus and flight. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 16 hours traveling from Edmonton to Tokyo. Traveling from Edmonton in May, things will get a bit warmer in Tokyo: highs are around 28°C and lows about 19°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 20th (Wed) to allow time to take a train to Kanazawa.

Venture out of the city with trips to Okayama Korakuen Garden (in Okayama), Bizen (Hattoji Furusatomura & Irigyogyo Kyodo Kumiai Manaichi) and Kunimi no Mori Park (in Shiso).
