Tokyo holds the status of most populous metropolitan area in the world--a fact you'll find tangible as you walk the bustling streets and explore its diverse neighborhoods and cultures.
Step out of Tokyo with an excursion to Tokyo DisneySea in Maihama--about 30 minutes away. There's still lots to do: don't miss a visit to Meiji Jingu Shrine, get great views at Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Senso-ji Temple, and get in on the family fun at Tokyo Disneyland.

Brussels, Belgium to Tokyo is an approximately 15-hour flight. You can also do a combination of train and flight. Traveling from Brussels to Tokyo, you'll lose 8 hours due to the time zone difference. In July, Tokyo is somewhat warmer than Brussels - with highs of 36°C and lows of 27°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 17th (Fri) early enough to catch the train to Kanazawa.

An old castle town largely unspoiled during World War II, Kanazawa features well-preserved architecture spread across a range of districts.
Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Kanazawa: Shirakawa-mura (Wada House, The Historic Villages of Shirakawa-go Gassho Style Houses, & more) and Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum (in Katsuyama). There's much more to do: walk around Kenrokuen Garden, step into the grandiose world of Kanazawa Castle, see the interesting displays at Ishikawa Prefectural Museum for Traditional Products and Crafts, and make a trip to Omicho Market.

Take a train from Tokyo to Kanazawa in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can fly; or drive. Expect a daytime high around 34°C in July, and nighttime lows around 26°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 20th (Mon) so you can catch the train to Kyoto.

The national capital for over a thousand years, Kyoto retains much of the charm of old Japan, boasting numerous temples and shrines that seem completely untouched by the modern world.
Get out of town with these interesting Kyoto side-trips: Universal Studios Japan (in Konohana) and Osaka (Osaka Castle & Dotonbori). There's lots more to do: steep yourself in history at Kiyomizu-dera Temple, examine the collection at Kyoto Museum of Traditional Crafts Fureaikan, wander the streets of Gion, and explore the historical opulence of Nijo Castle.

Take a train from Kanazawa to Kyoto in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. In July in Kyoto, expect temperatures between 37°C during the day and 28°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 25th (Sat) to allow time to take a train to Himeji.

Get out of town with these interesting Himeji side-trips: Okayama Korakuen Garden (in Okayama), Tendaki Falls (in Yabu) and Asago (Awaga Shrine & Takeda Teramachi Street). The adventure continues: step into the grandiose world of Himeji Castle, admire the natural beauty at Koko-en Garden, take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Mt. Takamikura, and make a trip to Shoshazan Engyoji.

Getting from Kyoto to Himeji by train takes about an hour. Other options: drive; or take a bus. Traveling from Kyoto in July, you will find days in Himeji are a bit cooler (33°C), and nights are about the same (29°C). Finish your sightseeing early on the 28th (Tue) to allow enough time to take a train to Hiroshima.
