Brisbane, Australia to Tokyo is an approximately 13.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of bus and flight. The time zone difference when traveling from Brisbane to Tokyo is minus 1 hour. Traveling from Brisbane in January, things will get colder in Tokyo: highs are around 11°C and lows about 1°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 2nd (Sun) early enough to catch the train to Sendai.

Start off your visit on the 3rd (Mon): make a trip to Sendai Station, go for a stroll along the water at Matsushima Bay, get engrossed in the history at Zuihoden, then contemplate the long history of Sendai Castle (Aoba Castle), and finally contemplate the long history of Osaki Hachiman Shrine. Here are some ideas for day two: don't miss a visit to Jozenji-dori Avenue, get engrossed in the history at Michinoku Date Masamune Historical Museum, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Zuiganji, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Entsu-in Temple, and finally take in the spiritual surroundings of Shiogama Shrine.

You can take a train from Tokyo to Sendai in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can fly; or drive. When traveling from Tokyo in February, plan for a bit cooler days in Sendai, with highs around 5°C, while nights are about the same with lows around 3°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 4th (Tue) so you can travel to Kyoto.

Traveling by flight from Sendai to Kyoto takes 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of flight and train; or drive. When traveling from Sendai in February, plan for somewhat warmer days in Kyoto, with highs around 11°C, while nights are about the same with lows around 1°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 9th (Sun) to allow enough time to take a train to Osaka.
