Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.
Visiting Colle del Gianicolo and Cascata delle Marmore will get you outdoors. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Basilica Papale San Paolo fuori le Mura and Duomo di Orvieto. Change things up with a short trip to Cattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta Spoleto in Spoleto (about 2 hours away). There's much more to do: explore the world behind art at Vatican Museums, explore the ancient world of Palatine Hill, pause for some serene contemplation at Basilica di Santa Maria degli Angeli e dei Martiri, and contemplate in the serene atmosphere at San Pietro in Vincoli.

Singapore, Singapore to Rome is an approximately 17-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train. The time zone changes from Singapore Time (SGT) to Central European Time (CET), which is usually a -7 hour difference. Expect colder temperatures when traveling from Singapore in December; daily highs in Rome reach 16°C and lows reach 4°C.
