The 2013 European "Capital of Culture," Marseille is the largest port city on the breezy Mediterranean coast and the second largest city in France.
You'll enjoy a bit of beach vacationing at Plage du Capelan and Plage de Renecros. Step out of the city life by going to Calanques and Parc National des Calanques. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Marseille: Cassis (Plage de la Grande Mer & Bestouan Beach).
