Located on the sea, Aarhus blends a world city with a small-town feel. Home to a young population, the city has a reputation for producing internationally known pop and rock musicians.
Get some historical perspective at Lindholm Hoeje Museum and Danmarks Industrimuseum. Get a sense of the local culture at Faengslet and Aarhus Domkirke. Venture out of the city with trips to Frilandsmuseet Hjerl Hede (in Vinderup), Skovby Kirke (in Skovby) and Springeren - Maritimt Oplevelsescenter (in Aalborg). Esbjerg is a seaport town and seat of Esbjerg Municipality on the west coast of the Jutland peninsula in southwest Denmark. Kick off your visit on the 15th (Sun): examine the collection at Naturudstilling Mando, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Vester Vedsted Kirke, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Ribe Domkirke, then take in the exciting artwork at Ribe Glas ved Erna Moeller, and finally pause for some serene contemplation at Sonderho Kirke.
